All,
Bob Reid was a friend to all of us and it is with a heavy heart I’m letting you know of his passing.
Bob began his career with the Los Angeles Police Department in November 1971 and following a long and distinguished 36-year career, retired in July 2007. Bob’s connection with law enforcement did not end when he retired from LAPD as he carried on the knowledge and experience, he gained and channeled his focus into training the next generation of officers. He had a passion for safe driving and for the last 15 years, Bob has been the coordinator and primary driving instructor for the Law Enforcement programs at both Allan Hancock and Rio Hondo Colleges. Bob began his part-time faculty position with AHC in June 2010; he passed on Saturday, August 16, 2026.
Bob’s family is not having a memorial; he will be missed by all of us at public safety training.
