- Some departments are made up entirely of part-timers. Full-time should do PLO review entry in SPOL as part if their contractual obligation, but who does it when there are no full-time instructors?
- How about some PD on SLO assessment? When would that be?
- See the program review for Culinary Arts program. It nicely maps the courses to the program PLO’s.
- There is no contract language specifically to reviewing PLO progress, but it is a responsibility because of accreditation. Do we approach this as strictly a compliance issue, or in the spirit of meaningful improvement?
- Institutional Learning Outcomes … who evaluates those?
- By the way, full-time evaluation process is getting redesigned.

- You can define Learning Outcomes in Canvas, then link assignments to the Outcome. Once this is set up, you have a clear way to track student’s meeting each outcome.
- If Program Learning Outcomes and their relationship to SLO’s isn’t obvious, perhaps the PLO isn’t clearly written?
- The RN Clinical Evaluation form is a nice example of how they evaluate student’s performance, and it shows the PLO that each activity is linked to. They use a scale of 0-4, but you could do something simpler 0-1 (not pass/pass).
- Do your student assessments align with the Learning Outcomes? If not, are your assessments truly meaningful?
