S&SB Department meeting notes 11/11/25

- Economics, history, political science, and ethnic studies instructors needed.
- Department chair split– Roger discussed that the chair position has been difficult for him to maintain and keep up. He suggested having an assistant chair position or splitting the chair responsibilities with someone else who would support him.
- The department also suggested the assistant chair position should have an extra compensation piece to compensate for the extra work.
- Monica suggested appointing someone from a different department as the department was having difficulty considering someone for the position. However, the department agreed that they will not be selecting someone from another department and would like to maintain this selection internally.
- NDA compliance due April 6
- Briefly, a department member mentioned and discussed how teaching overload for a 25th year can increase your retirement amount. This is unsure if only for full-time or as well part-time.
