Safety Committee

  • No changes to Campus cameras system but the ones installed are working well and plans are in works to add to LVC campus, no opposition identified to using cameras
  • Opioid grant still in the works. College is working with local clinics and training will be offered soon for staff.
  • Campus safety academy will be April 24 to go over safety and opioid training. A certificate is in the works, to be offered by AHCPD department. Training is well received.
  • Workplace safety Inspection form is in the works to identify safety issues that might affect building/student safety. Form will be available to view at a later time. Being worked on by AHCPD
  • Keenan training has been updated for some. Mostly all staff has completed mandated training
  • Agenda items were identified and updated individually but meeting cut short due to Staff directors needing to attend other meeting on campus
  • Homeless/transit person was contacted and confronted at LVC this past week. Turned over AHCPD. No injuries reported.

Health Science Committee

  • The hiring process for OST position had 30 applicants
  • Pre Radiology has placed 10 out of 30 students into the Channel Island slots for continued training
  • Medical assisting graduation is May 15 with 20 students
  • Dental Assisting has 25 students with their clinicals starting next week in various location
  • LVN has 35 students with 33 passing their mid Terms and with 2 in remediation.
  • Sonny brought more Narcan to pass out to those that wanted them
  • Medical and Billing is now an all-online course that is available at AHC
  • Teachers are seeing more students in need and using LAP programs in their classes
  • 5-year construction projects for Health Sciences are still funded and still on track
  • There will be doing a soft launch of AdAstra at the Deans and Chairs meeting April 17th
  • Group voted yes to all BP/AP policies presented to their HS departments
  • Channel Islands reps will be on AHC campus 7/7-7/8 for simulation training in the pre-radiology department
  • EKG program is also online (differs from the EMT/Para EKG course)

Web Development Services Committee

  • Constant updated changes to overall look of myHancock face page. Widgets are movable and can be tailored for student use
  • In regards to MyHancock page, this whole committee makes recommendations and suggestions on how to get more interaction for its face page use to include fonts, sizing, accessibility and how add/delete widgets
  • Student digital ID photo is new widget and photo can be changed in the Setting section, safety issues identified for actual student ID purposes
  • End of Term countdown Widget added to myHancock face page. This widget links to other helpful sites to help the student better organize their scheduled items.
  • Analytics agenda items were skipped for next meeting to give more time for ID cards and its issues and to address Portal organization on the myHancock face page
  • Updates made to SharePoint system (more backend computer language stuff so that front page’s work/viewed correctly).

Professional Development Committee

  • Meeting canceled/rescheduled due to HR DEIA Luncheon.
